Activate a Family Member - Family Locator

Here's information on how to activate a Family Member via the Family Locator website.

Caution Family Locator transitions to Verizon Smart Family™ effective 1/24/19. Refer to these FAQs for more info.

Note Notes:


  1. From a computer, visit Family Safeguards & Controls.
  2. Click View Details & Edit (located on the right in the Family Locator section).
  3. Click Locate Your Family.
    Click Locate Your Family
  4. Click Close if prompted with "The Family Locator App is Not Installed."
  5. Click Activate next to the appropriate Family Member's device.
    Click Activate
  6. Click Activate Now.
  7. To continue, ensure all the steps have been verified and selected then click Activate.
    Line note Steps have been selected when a checkmark is present in the box to the left of the step.
    Click Activate
  8. When presented, click OK.
