Reassign / Remove a Family Member - Family Locator

Here's info on how to add/remove a Family Member via the Family Locator website.

Caution Effective 5/13/19, Family Locator will be discontinued and transitioned to Verizon Smart Family™. Refer to these FAQs for more info.

Note Only the Account Owner or an Account Manager with full online access can add or remove Family Members. Here's additional info on account roles.

  1. From a computer, visit Family Safeguards & Controls.
  2. Click View Details & Edit (located on the right in the Family Locator section).
  3. Click Add or Remove Members (located at the bottom).
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Adjust roles as desired then click Update.
    Note Family Locator is enabled on selected number when a check mark is present.
    Note At least one Administrator and one Participant must be assigned on separate lines per account.
    • Administrators (only 1 per account) can perform all Participant functions plus:
      • Edit all Participant profiles
      • Locate Participants
      • Create arrival and departure updates
      • Create scheduled updates
    • Participants (multiple per account) have limited access but can:
      • Locate other Family Member phones
      • Send text messages via Family Locator
      • Add Family Locator contacts
      • View location history
  6. Click Update.
  7. Click OK to confirm changes.
