Purchase Family Locator

Here's info on how to purchase Family Locator via the My Verizon website.

Caution Effective 5/13/19, Family Locator will be discontinued and transitioned to Verizon Smart Family™. Refer to these FAQs for more info.

Note Notes:

  • This services requires at least one Family Locator capable handset.
  • Only the account owner or an account manager with full online access can add the Family Locator add-on. Refer to Account Roles for additional info.


  1. From a computer, visit Family Safeguards & Controls.
  2. Click View Details & Edit (located on the right in the Family Locator section).
  3. Click Add Now.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select an Administrator or Participant then click Continue.
  6. To proceed, ensure 'Accept these changes' is selected then click Submit Changes.
  7. Click Close.
  8. To add an additional member, click Add to Family Locator then repeat steps 4 through 7.
