Since notifications pushed to your device are carried over cellular data, you may see a small amount of data usage even while connected to Wi-FI

Turning on notifications may impact battery life.
From the Home screen, navigate:
Notification view switch
to turn on
Today view switch
to to turn on or off.
Tap the desired Today view switches (e.g., Today Summary, etc) to turn on or off:
Select the desired Notifications view option:
Selected when a check mark is present.
Sort By Time
Tap the apps to include (e.g., Phone, Messages, etc.).
Apps that have been turned off appear in the 'Do Not Include' section at bottom.
If available, select the Alert Style (None, Banners, Alerts).
If available, tap the following switches to turn on or off:
Badge App Icon
Show in Notification Center
If turned on (checked), tap
then select a setting (e.g., 1 recent item, etc.).
Show on Lock Screen
When set to on, screen turns on when a notification or alert is received.
If available, tap
then configure the settings (Vibration, Ringtone, etc.) as preferred.
