Email Account Settings (Personal POP / IMAP) - Apple® iPhone® 4

This info is helpful if you need assistance with your personal POP/IMAP email settings and server addresses.

 

Note Notes:

 

  1. From the Home screen, navigate: Settings Settings icon > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. From the Accounts section, tap an email account.
  3. Tap the following switch(es) to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off:
    Note Available options may vary.
    • Mail
    • Contacts
    • Calendars
    • Notes
  4. Tap Account (or the email address) then verify the info (e.g., Name, Email, etc).
  5. If available, verify the incoming mail server info (e.g., Host Name, Username, Password, etc.).
  6. Tap SMTP then tap the Primary SMTP Server.
  7. Tap the Server switch to turn the SMTP server on or off.
  8. Verify the outgoing mail server settings:
    • Host Name
    • User Name
    • Password
    • Use SSL
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Authentication
    • Server Port
  9. Tap Cancel or Done then tap the Back arrow Back arrow (upper-left).
  10. If available, tap Advanced then verify the following:
    • Mailbox behaviors
      • Drafts Mailbox
      • Deleted Mailbox
      • Archive Mailbox
    • Discarded messages location
      • Deleted Mailbox
      • Archive Mailbox
        Note Selected when a check mark is present.
  11. Verify the following Incoming and S/MIME settings then tap the Back arrow Back arrow.
    • Use SSL
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Path Prefix
    • Server Port
    • S/MIME
      Note Turned on when the switch is in the green position.
    • Sign
    • Encrypt
  12. Tap Done (upper-right).
