Calling

  1. From the Home screen, tap Facetime Facetime.
    Note FaceTime cannot also be accessed from Phone or Contacts.
  2. If prompted, enter the Apple ID and password then tap Sign In.
  3. To choose a contact, tap the Plus symbol +.
    Note Popular contacts may display along the left edge of the screen.
  4. Tap a Contact.
  5. Tap the Facetime option (along the top-left):
    • Video
    • Audio
      Note To end the video or audio Facetime session, tap End (red phone symbol).

Accepting a FaceTime Request

  1. When receiving a FaceTime request, tap Accept.
  2. To end the FaceTime session, tap End (red phone symbol).

Starting a Group FaceTime Call

Note Notes:

  • In order to use Group FaceTime, your iPad must be running iOS 12.1 or higher.
  • The steps below only apply to the following devices:
    • iPad Pro or later
    • iPad Air 2
    • iPad Mini 4
  • For additional Group FaceTime support, refer to this Apple article.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Facetime Facetime.
  2. Tap the Plus icon Plus icon (upper-left).
  3. Enter the name of your contacts, phone numbers, or emails.
  4. To start the call, tap Audio or Video.
