Turn SSID Broadcast On / Off - Verizon Jetpack® 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot - 890L
To broadcast or not broadcast your Wi-Fi name to other devices, view this info.
Every wireless access point (e.g., router, hotspot) has a network name or SSID (Service Set Identifier) assigned to it.
While the SSID is typically broadcast by default, it can be turned off for greater security.
When turned off, any device attempting to connect for the first time must know the SSID name and password to set up a manual connection to it.
For the easiest connection experience, it's recommended to leave broadcast on.
Access the Verizon Wireless MiFi Personal Hotspot page.
Launch a web browser then navigate to 192.168.1.1.
Refer to Connecting to a Wi-Fi network for additional assistance. Select the appropriate option: Macintosh OS X Windows 7 Windows Vista Windows XP
Enter the password then click Login.
The default password is located on a sticker on the back of the device.
Click Basic Setup.
From the Quick Setup tab, tap Broadcast Wi-Fi network name (SSID) to Enable or Disable.
Enabled means the device is broadcasting and visible to Wi-Fi devices.
