Apple® iPad® - iCloud® Settings

Note Need to Know Info:

  • iCloud requires:
    • iOS 5 or later
    • a Mac computer with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date browser is required for accessing email, contacts and calendars).
  • Some features require a Wi-Fi connection and aren't available in all countries.
  • Access to some services is limited to 10 devices.

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap Settings Settings icon.
  2. Tap the Apple profile at the top of the Settings menu.

  3. Tap iCloud.
    Note If prompted, enter the Apple ID and password then tap Sign In.
  4. Tap Photos.
  5. Tap the following switch(es) to turn on or off:
    • iCloud Photos
    • Shared Albums
  6. Select the desired option:
    Note Selected when a checkmark is present.
    • Optimize iPad Storage
    • Download and Keep Originals
  7. Tap Back arrow icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  8. Tap the preferred switch(es) to turn the available backup options (e.g., Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Messages, etc.) on Switch On or off Switch Off.
  9. Tap Keychain.
  10. Tap the iCloud Keychain switch to turn on or off.
    Note Keeps passwords and credit card info saved on the devices you approve.
  11. Tap Back arrow icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  12. Tap Find My iPad.
  13. Tap the Find My iPad switch to turn on or off.
    Note To allow devices to be found when they're not connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network, tap the Enable Offline Finding switch to turn on.
    Note To automatically send the last known location of your iPad to Apple when the battery is low, tap the Send Last Location switch to turn on.
  14. Tap Back arrow icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  15. Tap iCloud Backup.
  16. Tap the iCloud Backup switch to turn on or off.
    Note Tap Back Up Now to complete a manual backup.
  17. Tap Back arrow icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  18. Tap Look Me Up then tap any of the app switches to allow or not allow.
    Note Apps that request permissions to allow others to look you up by email appear.
  19. Tap Back icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
