Apple® iPad® - iCloud® Settings

Note Need to Know Info:

  • iCloud requires:
    • iOS 5 or later
    • a Mac computer with OS X Lion; or a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 (Outlook 2007 or 2010 or an up-to-date browser is required for accessing email, contacts and calendars).
  • Some features require a Wi-Fi connection and aren't available in all countries.
  • Access to some services is limited to 10 devices.

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings Settings icon.
  2. Tap the Apple profile at the top of the Settings menu.

  3. Tap iCloud.
    Note If prompted, enter the Apple ID and password then tap Sign In.
  4. If prompted to allow iCloud to use your location, tap an option:
    • Don't Allow
    • OK
  5. Tap Photos then tap the preferred switch(es) to turn the applicable options on Switch On or off Switch Off:
    Note Available options may vary depending on model:
    • iCloud Photo Library
    • My Photo Stream
    • Upload Burst Photos
    • iCloud Photo Sharing
    • Contacts
  6. Tap Back arrow icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  7. Tap the preferred switch(es) to turn options on or off:
    Note Available options may vary depending on model:
    • Mail
    • Contacts
    • Calendars
    • Reminders
    • Notes
    • Safari
    • News
    • Home
    • Game Center
  8. Tap Keychain then tap the iCloud Keychain switch to to turn on or off.
    Note If prompted, enter the iCloud password then tap OK.
  9. If prompted, tap the iCloud Keychain option then follow the appropriate screen prompts.
    Note Screen prompts could include entering existing security code or creating a new one.
    • Use Passcode
    • Create Different Code
  10. Tap Back Arrow iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  11. Tap Find My iPad
  12. Tap the Find My iPad switch to turn on or off.
  13. If desired, tap the Send Last Location switch to turn on or off then tap Back Arrow iCloud.
    Note Automatically sends location of device to Apple when battery is critically low.
  14. Tap iCloud Backup then tap the switch to turn on of off.
    Note Refer to Manage iCloud Backup options for more info.
  15. Tap Back Arrow iCloud.
  16. Tap the iCloud Drive switch to turn on or off.
    Note Allows apps to store documents and data in iCloud.
  17. Tap any of the following switches to turn on or off:
    • iBooks
    • Mail
    • Reminders
    • Safari
    • Use Cellular Data
      Note When not connected to Wi-Fi, use cellular network to transfer documents and data
  18. Tap Look Me Up By Email then tap any of the app switches to allow or not allow.
    Note Apps that request permissions to allow others to look you up by email appear.
  19. Tap Back icon iCloud to return to the previous screen.
  20. Tap Share My Location then tap the Share My Location switch to turn on or off.
  21. Tap From then tap the desired location.
