Email Account Password and Server Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® III

To configure personal email server settings (e.g., password, Exchange server, etc.), follow these steps.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (located in the lower-right).
  2. From the APPS tab, tap Email.
  3. From an Inbox, tap the Menu icon Menu button icon (located at the bottom left).
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. Tap the appropriate email account (located below Add account).
  6. Tap the email account.
  7. Tap More settings.
  8. From the SERVER SETTINGS section, tap Incoming settings.
  9. Ensure the appropriate information is entered into the following fields then tap Done:
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • Domain\Username
    • Username
    • Password
    • Server
      Note If you're not sure what your server info is, here are some common personal email server addresses. Contact your email provider if additional assistance is needed or your server info isn't listed.
    • Port
    • Use secure connection (SSL)
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Accept all SSL certificates
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Security type
    • Delete email from server
  10. If available, tap Outgoing settings.
  11. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then tap Done.
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • SMTP server
    • Port
    • Security type
    • Require sign-in
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
      Note If applicable, ensure the appropriate username and password are entered.
