Add a Wi-Fi Network - Windows® 8

Note Notes:


  1. From the right edge of the screen, swipe left to display the charms menu.
    Note If using a mouse, move the pointer to the upper or lower-right corner of the Start screen then move up/down.
    Note Alternatively, press the Windows+C keys ( windows key logo+C) located on the physical keyboard (if available).

  2. Tap or click Settings.

  3. Tap or click the Wireless network icon Wireless network icon.
  4. Ensure that the Wi-Fi switch is on Switch On icon then select an available network from the Wi-Fi section.
    Note For notebook computers (non-tablets), a physical switch may need to be turned on.
    Note If the preferred network is not listed, it can be added manually.
  5. Tap or click Connect.
    Note To automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network whenever it is available, ensure that the "Connect automatically" setting is selected (checked) prior to connecting.
  6. If prompted, enter the appropriate network security key or username and password then tap Next.
  7. If prompted, select remaining option(s) as desired to complete setup.
