Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings - Samsung Galaxy Note® II

To configure Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.), view this info.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Applications icon (located in the lower-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Mobile Hotspot.
  3. Tap Configure (located in the lower-right).
  4. Configure the following then tap Save.
    • Network SSID
    • Hide my device
      Note Enabled when a check mark Checkbox icon is present.
    • Security
      • Open
        Note If presented with Warning screen, tap Continue.
      • WPA PSK
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
    • Show password
      Note Enabled when a check mark Checkbox icon is present.
    • To change the Broadcast Channel:
      • Tap Show advanced options
        Note Enabled when a check mark Checkbox icon is present.
      • Tap the Broadcast channel dropdown menu Drop down menu icon then tap the appropriate channel, i.e., Auto, 1 - 11.
  5. Tap the device name (located above Connected devices) (e.g., SCH-I560xxxx).
    Note By default, xxxx are the last 4 digits of of the Wi-Fi MAC address.
  6. Tap one of the following:
    • All devices
    • Allowed devices only
  7. To set allowed devices, tap Allowed devices.
  8. Tap the Add icon +.
  9. Enter the device name and MAC address then tap OK.
