Activate / Set Up Device - Verizon 4G LTE USB Modem UML295

Note Ensure the following system requirements are met and the computer isn't connected to an alternate Internet connection (e.g. LAN, Wi-Fi):

  • Operating Systems:
    • Windows 8 (32 & 64-bit)
    • Windows 7  (32 & 64-bit)
    • Windows Vista  (32 & 64-bit) w/ Service Pack 2 or higher
    • Windows XP (32-bit only) w/ Service Pack 3 or higher

    • Linux® Ubuntu (32 & 64-bit) versions 12 and 13
    • Linux® Fedora 64-bit versions Schrödinger's Cat and Heisenbug
    • Linux® Suse (32 & 64-bit) versions 12.3 and 13.1
  • Browsers:
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher
    • Mozilla Firefox 5 or higher
    • Google Chrome 12 or higher
    • Apple Safari 5 or higher
    • Opera 12 or higher


  1. Insert the SIM card.
  2. Connect the USB modem to the computer.
  3. Once the LED Status Indicator starts blinking green, launch a web browser then navigate to (IP address
  4. From the 'Welcome to the Verizon Mobile Broadband Manager' screen, select the appropriate option:
    • Install Enhanced App
      Note For users requiring enhanced services (e.g., VPN access).
    • Use Basic Web App
      Note For users not requiring enhanced services.
  5. If applicable, select (check) IP Pass Through and Utility (Windows Only).
    Note Applies to some Business customers. Contact your local IT administrator for assistance.
  6. Select Continue (located in the lower-right; may require scrolling).
  7. Select Close.
