Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • A Miracast-enabled HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter may be required to view your smartphone's screen via an external display. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube™, Netflix®, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note Follow these steps to view your entire screen contents on your TV.

  1. Touch and hold the Status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.

  2. Tap Smart View Smart View.
  3. Select the appropriate display from the list of available devices.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up then tap Gallery or Play Music.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Contacts icon (upper-right).
  3. Select the desired media and tap Share.
  4. From the 'Share as' screen select one of the following:
    • Image File
    • Video Vile
  5. Tap Share to device.
    Note If necessary, tap the screen to display options.
  6. Select a device on the network to play media.
  7. Use on-screen controls to adjust playback and volume.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (located in the upper-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.  
  3. Tap More settings.
  4. Tap Nearby devices.
  5. Tap Shared contents.
  6. Select any of the following then select OK:
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Videos 
    • Photos 
    • Music 
  7. Tap Device name.
  8. Enter a name then tap Save.
  9. Tap Download to.
  10. Select one of following then tap OK:
    • Device 
    • SD card 
  11. Tap Upload from other devices.
  12. Select any of the following then tap OK:
    • Always accept
    • Always ask
    • Always reject
