Add Device (Windows)

  1. Launch BlackBerry Link.
    Note From the Windows desktop, click Start > All Programs > BlackBerry > BlackBerry Link.
  2. To add a BlackBerry 10 device, connect it to the computer using the suppied USB cable or sign in to BlackBerry ID.
    Note To sign in to BlackBerry ID, click Sign in (located in the upper-right), enter the appropriate Username and Password then click Sign In. Once the device has been successfully linked to your BlackBerry ID, click Finish.
  3. If connected via USB, click the device tab (located in the lower-left; to the right of the computer tab).
    Note The name of the tab will vary depending upon the name of the device.
    Note If presented, enter the device password.
  4. Enter/configure the following then click Continue:
    • Name your device in BlackBerry Link
    • Link Your New Device With Your Computer
      Note If both the computer and device are signed in with the same BlackBerry ID, they will already be linked together thus the options below will not be presented.
      • Link this device and this computer
      • Do not link this device and this computer. This is a one-time connection.
  5. From the 'Switching Devices' screen, click Next to skip the process.
    Note Transferring data from a previous device can be performed after completing initial device setup, refer to Switch Devices - BlackBerry Link for assistance.
  6. From the 'Import Device Media and Documents' screen, ensure that the desired options are selected (if applicable) then click Finish (located in the lower-right).
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.
    • Music
    • Pictures
    • Videos
    • Documents

Add Device (Macintosh)

  1. Launch BlackBerry Link.
    Note From the Macintosh desktop, click Finder > Applications > BlackBerry Link.
  2. To add a BlackBerry 10 device, connect it to the computer via the suppied USB cable or sign in to BlackBerry ID.
    Note To sign in to BlackBerry ID, click Sign in (located in the upper-right), enter the appropriate Username and Password then click Sign In. Once the device has been successfully linked to your BlackBerry ID, click Finish.
  3. If connected via USB, click the device tab (located in the lower-left; to the right of the computer tab).
    Note The name of the tab will vary depending upon the name of the device.
    Note If presented, enter the device password.
  4. Enter/configure the following then click Continue:
    • Link Your New Device With Your Computer
      • Link this device and this computer
      • Do not link this device and this computer. This is a one-time connection.
    • Name your device in BlackBerry Link
  5. From the 'Transfer Data From Your Previous BlackBerry OS Device' screen, click Finish.
    Note To transfer data from a previous device, refer to Switch Devices - BlackBerry Link.
