Move Music Files to Device - Samsung Galaxy S® 4

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

Caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
  2. If necessary, touch and hold the Status bar (area at the top of the phone screen with the time, signal strength, etc.) then drag to the bottom.
  3. Tap the USB icon USB icon.

  4. Select Media device (MTP).
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.

  5. Launch File Explorer or Windows Explorer on the computer.
    note Using the computer keyboard, press Windows+E (windows key logo+E) keys.
    Note Alternatively, right-click Start then click Open File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
  6. Using Explorer, navigate to then copy the desired music files.
    Note The default location for music can be accessed by navigating: Libraries > Music.
  7. Using Explorer, access the device folder by navigating: SCH-I545 > "Card" or "Phone" > Music.
    Note SCH-I545 is listed under the Portable Devices or This PC section.
  8. Use the computer to move the music files into the device folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  9. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
