Samsung Galaxy S® 4 - Clear Temporary Internet Files

This can help if you're unable to browse the Internet or a web page won't display.

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your Google apps are up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  • If unable to access the app, temporary Internet files can also be cleared by resetting the browser app. However, utilizing this method results in all settings/preferences (e.g., browser, bookmarks) being cleared.

  1. Launch the Chrome browser.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Privacy.
  5. Tap Clear Browsing Data.
  6. Select any of the following then tap Clear.
    Note Selected when a check mark is present.
    • Browsing history
      Note A listing of URLs (website addresses) that have been recently visited.
    • Cache
      Note Visited website content stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time a website was visited. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
    • Cookies, site data
      Note Some cookies contain customized preference and logon information for previously visited websites. Once deleted, the website may prompt for this information again.
    • Saved passwords
    • Autofill data
