Samsung Galaxy S® 4 - Create and Send a Text Message

Messages must be set as the default messaging app.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Messages Messaging icon (located at the bottom).
    Note If unavailable, navigate: Apps > Messages.
  2. From the Inbox, tap Compose Compose message icon (located in the lower-right).
  3. From the Enter recipients field, enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.
    Note As the number or name is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be tapped at any time.
  4. To add a subject:
    1. Tap the Menu icon Menu (located at the bottom left).
    2. Tap Add subject.
    3. Enter a subject.
  5. To add an attachment:
    1. Tap the Attach icon Paper clip icon (located in the lower-left).
    2. Tap the attachment type (e.g., Images, Audio, Video, etc.).
    3. Locate then tap the preferred file or attachment.
  6. From the Enter message field, enter a message.
  7. Tap Send (located in the lower-right).
