Email Account Password and Server Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 4

To configure personal email server settings (e.g., password, Exchange server, etc.), follow these steps.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Email.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Menu icon Menu (located at the bottom-left) then tap Switch to list view.
  3. From the Common settings section, tap Settings.
  4. Tap the appropriate email account.
  5. If available, tap Password.
  6. Enter the password then tap OK.
  7. Tap More settings (located at the bottom; may require scrolling).
  8. From the Server settings section, tap Incoming settings (if available).
    Note If you're not sure what your server info is, here are some common personal email server addresses. Contact your email provider if additional assistance is needed or your server info isn't listed.
  9. Edit any of the following then tap Done (located at the bottom; may require scrolling):
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • Email address
    • Username
    • Password
    • IMAP/POP3 server
    • Security type
    • Port
    • Delete email from server
  10. Tap Outgoing settings (if available).
  11. Edit any of the following then tap Done (located at the bottom; may require scrolling):
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • SMTP server
    • Security type
    • Port
    • Require sign-in.
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Username
    • Password
