Samsung Galaxy S® 4 - Add a Virtual Private Network

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap More networks.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Menu icon Menu (located at the bottom-left) then tap Switch to list view.
  3. Tap VPN.
    Note To remove a VPN, touch and hold the VPN name then tap Delete network.
  4. Tap Basic VPN.
  5. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap OK.
    Note Refer to Set Up Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN, or Password only) for assistance.
  6. Tap the Add icon + (located in the upper-right).
  7. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    Note Contact the VPN administrator for assistance with server information and credentials.
  8. From the Type field, select the the VPN type:
    1. PPTP
    2. L2TP/IPSec
    3. PSK L2TP/IPSec RSA
    4. IPSec Xauth PSK
    5. IPSec Xauth RSA
    6. IPSec Hybrid RSA
  9. Enter the required information into the applicable fields then tap Save (located in the lower-right).
    Note If applicable, tap (check) Show advanced options to configure the following:
    Note The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
