Samsung Galaxy S® 4 - Manage Data Usage

Note Notes:

  • Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon, refer to the My Verizon website.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps > Settings.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Data usage then do one of the following:
    Note If unavailable, tap the Menu icon Menu (lower-left) then tap Switch to list view.
    • Change Data Usage Cycle:
    1. From the Data usage cycle field, tap the Dropdown menu Dropdown menu icon.
    2. Tap Change cycle.
    3. Tap the appropriate date then tap Set.
      Note Refer to the My Verizon website for the billing cycle date.
    • Set Mobile Data Limit:
      Caution Mobile / cellular data is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependent on a data connection (e.g. Browser, Email, etc.), Wi-Fi can be used or Mobile data must be manually adjusted (overage charges may apply).
    1. Tap Limit mobile data usage to enable.
      Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
      Note If prompted, review the message then tap OK.
    2. Tap the number to the left of the orange line.
    3. Enter the preferred data usage limit then tap Set.
    • Set Mobile Data Warning:
      Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the black warning line.
    1. Tap Alert me about data usage to enable.
      Note Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    2. If presented with a data usage alert, tap OK.
    3. Tap the number to the left of the black line.
    4. Enter the preferred warning limit then tap Set.
