Samsung Galaxy S® 4 - Task Manager

  1. Press and hold the Home button.
  2. Tap Task manager (located in the lower-left).
  3. Tap the appropriate tab (located at the top of the screen):

Active Applications

  1. View the active app(s).
    Note An app blinking red for more than five seconds may indicate high CPU usage.
  2. To stop an active app, tap END (located to the right of the app).
  3. Tap OK.
  4. To stop all active apps, tap End all.
  5. Tap OK.



  1. View the downloaded app(s).
  2. To uninstall a downloaded app, tap Uninstall (located to the right of the app).
  3. Tap Uninstall to confirm.



Note Notes:

  • Clearing Random Access Memory (RAM) will end running apps and stop background apps. Verify that app data is saved before clearing memory.
  • Clearing Random Access Memory (RAM) may resolve issues with the device/display freezing. The device may be running low on memory (RAM).

From the RAM status section, view the amount of random access memory (RAM) being used.
Note To clear inactive and background processes, tap Clear memory.


Clear Defaults

View default apps.
Note To clear apps set as default, tap Clear (located to the right of the app).



View the System storage.
