Motions and Gestures - Samsung Galaxy S® 4

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps (located in the lower-right).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Motions and gestures.
    Note If unavailable, tap the Menu icon Menu (located at the bottom-left) then tap Switch to list view.
  4. Select one of the following:

 

Air Gesture

Note Air gesture allows control of the device by performing motions above the screen sensor. The air gesture sensor is positioned at the top right of the device above the screen. The sensor can recognize gestures from a distance of under 3 inches at normal speed.

  1. Tap the Air gesture switch to turn on Note or off Note.
  2. Tap any of the following switches to turn on:
    Quick Glance
    When the screen is off, reach towards the device to see important information at a glance
    Air jump
    Scroll web pages in screen-sized jumps
    Air browse
    Move between pictures, pages, or music tracks
    Air move
    Move app shortcuts or Calendar events to different pages
    Air call-accept
    Wave a hand over the screen to accept incoming calls

Motion

Note Motion allows control of the device by performing natural hand movements.

  1. Tap the Motion switch to turn on Note or off Note.
  2. Tap any of the following switches to turn on:
    Direct call
    Call contact currently displayed on screen
    Smart alert
    Catch missed calls and messages
    Zoom
    Zoom in or out of the screen when in Gallery
    Browse an image
    Move around an image when zoomed in
    Mute/pause
    Mute incoming calls and pause playing sounds when screen on

Palm Motion

Note Palm Motion allows control of the device by touching the screen with the palm of a hand.

  1. Tap the Palm motion switch to turn on Note or off Note.
  2. Tap any of the following switches to turn on:
    Capture screen
    Capture screen by swiping it from right to left or versa with the side of a hand
    Mute/pause
    Catch missed calls and messages
