Windows® Device Manager Conflicts - BlackBerry® Q10

Start Device Manager.

  • Windows 10
    • Right-Click Start > Device Manager.
  • Windows 8
    • Right-Click Start Screen > All Apps > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows 7
    • Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.

The following devices are normally installed:
Note Depending upon the USB connection type (e.g. USB Mass Storage, BlackBerry Link, etc.), some of the devices may not appear.

Network adapters
BlackBerry Device
BlackBerry Virtual Private Network
Ports (COM & LPT)
RIM Virtual Serial Port v2 (COMx)
Universal Serial Bus controllers
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Composite Device

Note If a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Note Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.

If a conflict is present:

  1. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
  2. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
  3. Enter C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers in the search field then click Next.
    Note The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
    Note If the driver software is not found, a Windows Operating System update may be needed.
  4. Click Close.
