Verizon Smart Family™ - Website - Set Data Limits

Note Notes:

  • To perform the steps below, you need to:
    • use a desktop or laptop computer with an up to date web browser (e.g., Chrome™, Edge, Safari®, etc.).
    • sign in using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.
    • ensure the child device is powered off prior to adding or removing blocks, restrictions, limits, etc.
  • The steps don't apply to prepaid accounts.

  1. From a web browser, sign in to My Verizon.
    Line note If using a smartphone or tablet, refer to the Android® or Apple® iOS instructions.
  2. From the My Verizon home screen, navigate: Plan > My Plans & Services > Manage Verizon Smart Family.
  3. From the list of devices (at the top), select the mobile number the limit should be applied to.
  4. From the left menu, click Limits & Controls to expand.
  5. Click Limit data.
  6. Click No limit to uncheck the box.
  7. From the GB per month field, enter the data limit.
    Line note Once the limit is reached, data usage is restricted until the next billing cycle.
    Line note You and your child receive free text alerts when they've used 50%, 75% and 90% of the limit.
  8. Select one of the following:
    Line note Selected when a dot is present.
    • Allow data use when limit is reached, but still notify me.
    • Block data use when limit is reached, but still notify me.
  9. Click Save.
