Email Account Password and Server Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 4 mini

To configure personal email server settings (e.g., password, Exchange server, etc.), follow these steps.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Email.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. From an Inbox, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (lower left; below the display).
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Account settings then tap the appropriate email account.
  5. Tap More settings (scroll to the bottom).
  6. Tap Incoming settings (if available).
    Note Depending upon the email account type, the available settings may vary.
  7. Ensure the following settings are correct then tap Done (located at the bottom):
    • Email address
    • User name
    • Password
    • POP3/IMAP server
      Note If you're not sure what your server info is, here are some common personal email server addresses. Contact your email provider if additional assistance is needed or your server info isn't listed.
    • Security type
    • Port
    • IMAP path prefix (if available).
  8. Tap Outgoing settings (if available).
  9. Ensure the following settings are correct then tap Done (at the bottom):
    Note Depending upon the email account type, the available settings may vary.
    • SMTP server
    • Security type
    • Port
    • Require sign-in
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
      Note If applicable, ensure the appropriate authentication method, username and password are entered.
