Move Music Files to Device - Samsung Galaxy S® 4 mini

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

Caution Only DRM free or unprotected video can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, touch and hold the Status bar (area at the top of the phone screen with the time, signal strength, etc.) then drag to the bottom.

    2. Tap the USB icon USB icon then select Media Device (MTP).
  2. From the computer, launch File Explorer, Windows Explorer or Finder.
    Note For File Explorer or Windows Explorer, press the Windows+E (windows key logo+E) keys using the computer keyboard.
    Note For Finder, click the Finder icon located on the dock.
  3. From File Explorer or Windows Explorer, or Finder, click SCH-I435 (under Portable Devices).
  4. Create a new music folder in one of the following storage locations:
    • Card
    • Phone
  5. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the newly created folder.
    note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  6. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
