Manage Data Usage - Moto X

To change the data usage cycle on your device, view data usage and set data warnings and restrictions, view this info.

Caution Data usage info provided by the device may differ from actual usage. For data usage info provided by Verizon Wireless, refer to the My Verizon website.

Change Data Usage Cycle

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage Data usage settings.
  2. From the Data usage cycle field, tap the Dropdown menu then tap Change cycle.
  3. Tap the appropriate date then tap Set.
    Note Refer to the My Verizon website for billing cycle date.

Set Cellular Data Warning

Note A notification message appears upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the orange warning line.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage Data usage settings.
  2. Tap the black line then tap the number.
  3. Enter the preferred warning limit then tap Set.

Set Cellular Data Limit

Caution Mobile data (cellular data) is disabled upon reaching the specified data usage level indicated by the red limit line. To continue to utilize apps dependant upon a data connection (e.g. Browser, Email, Google Play, etc.), a Wi-Fi connection can be used or Mobile data must be manually re-enabled (overage charges may apply).

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage Data usage settings.
  2. Tap Set cellular data limit to enable.
    Note Enabled when switch is on Switch on.
  3. If presented with Limiting data usage screen, review the message then tap OK.
  4. Tap the red line then tap the number.
  5. Enter the preferred data usage limit then tap Set.

View Data Usage By App

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings Settings icon > Data usage Data usage settings.
  2. Tap an app (located below the usage graph).
  3. View the usage info.
