Assist - Moto X™

Note Notes:
  • Motorola Assist allows you to automate actions, such as replying to texts while you're driving, silencing the ringer during meetings and conserving your battery when it runs low.
  • To choose the categories that appear on the Assist home screen, refer to Settings.

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. From the 'APPS' tab, tap Assist.
    1. If presented with the 'Let Motorola Assist help' screen, review the information then tap Next (located in the lower-right).
    2. From the 'Get Motorola Assist' screen, review the information then tap Yes, I'm in (located in the lower-right) to continue.
  3. If available, tap the Driving category.
  4. Tap Talk to me to enable or disable.
    Note Reads text messages and tells who's calling.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    1. If enabled, tap the right arrow Right arrow icon (located on the right).
    2. Tap any of the following to enable or disable:
      Note Items are enabled when a check mark is present.
      • Read text messages
      • Tell me who's calling
    3. From the 'Reply with a text message' section, tap one of the following:
      • Quick reply
        Note The caller will be notified via a text message that you are driving.
      • Do not reply
    4. Tap Back Back icon (located in the lower left).
  5. Tap Resume music play to enable or disable.
  6. If available, tap the Meeting category.
  7. Tap Silence to enable or disable.
    Note Keeps the phone quiet while busy.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    1. If enabled, tap the right arrow Right arrow icon (located on the right).
    2. Tap one of the following:
      • Silence all
        Note Turns off ringtone and vibrate.
      • Allow vibrate only
    3. From the 'Except when' section, tap any of the following:
      Note Items are enabled when a check mark is present.
      • A Favorite calls
        Note Starred Favorites can always reach you.
      • Someone calls twice
        Note Anyone calling twice within 5 minutes will be able to reach you.
    4. Tap Back Back icon (located in the lower left).
  8. If available, tap the Sleeping category.
  9. From the 'Choose your time' section, tap the Start and/or End time drop down menu, configure as desired then tap OK.
  10. Tap Silence to enable or disable.
    Note Keeps the phone quiet while sleeping.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    1. If enabled, tap the right arrow Right arrow icon (located on the right).
    2. From the 'Except when' section, tap any of the following:
      Note Items are enabled when a check mark is present.
      • A Favorite calls
        Note Starred Favorites can always reach you.
      • Someone calls twice
        Note Anyone calling twice within 5 minutes will be able to reach you.
    3. Tap Back Back icon (located in the lower left).

Settings

  1. From the Assist home screen, tap Menu Menu (located in the upper right).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. From the 'ACTIVITIES' section, tap any of the following to enable or disable:
    Note When enabled (check mark is present), the category appears on the Assist home screen.
    • Driving
      Note Measures your speed to detect if you are driving and helps you stay focused on the road.
    • Meeting
      Note Checks your calendar for events with others and helps you avoid distractions during meetings.
    • Sleeping
      Note Automatically silences during the hours you normally sleep, for undisturbed rest.
  4. From the 'NOTIFICATIONS' section, tap Notification drawer to enable or disable.
    Note Displays the current activity in the status bar.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
