Manage Screen Lock Settings - Samsung Galaxy Note® 3

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Applications icon (located in the lower right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap Lock screen.
  4. Tap Screen lock to select method for securing access to device (e.g., Swipe, Pattern, Pin, etc.).
  5. Tap any of the following:
    Note Depending upon the screen lock type, the options presented vary.
    • Personal message
      1. Tap the Personal message switch (located in the upper right) to turn on Personal message switch, On icon or off Personal message switch, Off icon.
      2. Tap Edit personal information.
      3. Configure the following then tap Save (check mark located in the upper right).
        • Message text
        • Clock
        • Date
        • Font color
        • Background color
        • Font
    • Owner information
      1. Enter text
      2. Tap (check) Show owner info on lock screen.
      3. Tap OK
    • Make pattern visible
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
      Note Screen security must be set to Pattern.
    • Unlock effect
      • None
      • Watercolor
    • Action Memo on lock screen
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Additional Information
      Note Personal message must not be enabled to utilize this setting.
    • Lock automatically
      • Immediately
      • 5 seconds
      • 15 seconds
      • 30 seconds
      • 1 minute
      • 2 minutes
      • 5 minutes
      • 10 minutes
      • 15 minutes
      • 30 minutes
    • Lock instantly with power key
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Auto factory reset
      Caution Ten incorrect entries of the device password resets the device to factory default condition. All data including Google Account, app data and settings, downloaded apps, etc. is removed. If necessary, perform Initial Activation/Setup.
      Note Available when Password is enabled.
