Removing then re-adding your email often fixes login and not receiving email issues.

From the home screen, select Settings.
If not available, swipe down from the top of the display (where the time is located).

Select Accounts.

Select the POP/IMAP (email) account.

Select Delete or Delete All
(trashcan at bottom of the screen).

Select Delete to confirm.
