Move Music Files to Device - BlackBerry® Z30

This helps you move or transfer music between your device and a computer/PC.

Note Notes:


  1. Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. From the home screen, select Settings.
      Note If not available, swipe down from the top of the display (where the time is located).
    2. Select Storage and Access.
    3. From the "Access to Storage" section, select the "USB Connection" drop down menu, then select one of the following:
      • Autodetect
      • Connect to Windows
      • Connect to Mac
  2. From the computer, launch Windows Explorer/Finder.
    Note For Windows Explorer, press the Windows+E keys (windows key logo+E) using the computer keyboard.
    Note For Finder, click the Finder icon located on the dock.
  3. From Windows Explorer/Finder, click the device name.
    Note On Windows, the BlackBerry device name (which may vary) appears as a network drive.
    Note On Macintosh, the BlackBerry device name appears as an IP address and is presented as a shared drive.
  4. Create a new music folder or open the existing music folder (if present).
  5. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the music folder.
    note For accompanying art in JPEG format, rename the file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  6. To further organize files, create a subfolder within music folder and copy desired music files into it.
  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

Note In addition to the process outlined above, BlackBerry Link can also be used to transfer media files.
