Move Music Files to Device - Samsung Galaxy Note® 10.1 2014 Edition

To transfer or move music files/songs between your device and a computer/PC, use this info.

Caution Only DRM free or unprotected music can be transferred via this method.

Note Notes:

 

  1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    1. If necessary, touch and hold the Status bar (located at the top) then drag to the bottom.
      Note The image below is merely an example.

    2. Tap Connected as an installer.
    3. Tap Media device (MTP).
      Note Selected when a check mark is present.
  2. From the computer, launch Windows Explorer / Finder.
    Note For Windows Explorer, press the Windows+E ( windows key logo+E) keys using the computer keyboard.
    Note For Finder, click the Finder icon located on the dock.
  3. Using Windows Explorer / Finder, create a new music folder in Removable Disk (X:).
    Note Removable Disk (X:) represents the SD Card installed in the device. This name may vary.
  4. Use the computer to copy music and other audio files into the newly created folder.
    Note For any accompanying artwork in JPEG format, rename the art file albumart.jpg and copy into the same folder as the music files.
  5. To further organize files, create a subfolder in the newly created music folder and copy desired music files into it.
  6. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
