Mobile Hotspot Settings - Samsung Galaxy Note® Pro

To configure Mobile Hotspot settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.), view this info.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Mobile Hotspot.
  2. From the More networks section, tap Mobile Hotspot.
  3. tap the Settings icon Settings icon (located in the upper-right).
  4. Configure the following then tap Save.
    • Network SSID
    • Hide my device
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Security
      • Open
        Note If presented with a Warning screen, tap Continue.
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
    • Show password
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • To change the Broadcast Channel:
      • Tap Show advanced options
        Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
      • Tap the Broadcast channel Dropdown menu Dropdown menu icon then tap the appropriate channel (e.g., Auto, 1 - 11)
  5. Tap the device name (located under Mobile Hotspot) (e.g. Verizon-SM-XXXX).
    Note By default, xxxx are the last 4 digits of of the Wi-Fi MAC address.
  6. Tap one of the following:
    • All devices
    • Allowed devices only
  7. To set allowed devices, tap Allowed devices.
  8. Tap the Add icon +.
  9. Enter the device name and MAC address then tap OK.
