View Device Screen on TV - Samsung Galaxy Note® Pro

Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube™, Netflix®, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a TV. A compatible TV or additional accessories may be required. Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note Follow these steps to view your entire screen contents on your TV.

  1. On the TV, follow the manufacturer's instructions to activate Screen Mirroring.
    Note If using a wireless display adapter, follow the manufacturer's instructions to activate the device.
  2. From a Home screen (on your device), navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > More networks.
  3. Tap Screen Mirroring.
  4. If prompted, tap Turn On.
  5. When connected, the device's screen is displayed on the TV.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

 

  1. From a Home screen, tap the Apps icon Apps icon (located in the lower-right).
  2. Tap Gallery, Music, or Video.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Vertival Menu icon (located at the upper-right).
  4. Tap Scan for nearby devices.
  5. Tap a device.
  6. To view a picture, play a song or video tap the file.
  7. To download a song or video tap and hold the file then tap Download.
    Note To download a picture, tap the picture then tap the Download icon Download icon (located in the upper-right).

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located in the lower-right).
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
  3. Tap More settings.  
  4. Tap the Nearby devices switch (located in the upper right) to enable Nearby devices switch, On icon or disable Nearby devices switch, Off icon.
    Note If presented with Nearby devices screen requesting access to device, tap OK to allow those specific device(s) access.
  5. Tap Nearby devices.
  6. Tap Shared contents.
  7. Tap any of the following to enable or disable then tap OK.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Videos
    • Photos
    • Music
  8. Tap Allowed devices list.
  9. If appropriate, tap any of device(s) listed then tap Delete to remove the device from the Allowed devices list; otherwise, tap Cancel.
    Note When deleting a device: from the Nearby devices Restart now? screen tap OK.
  10. Tap Not-allowed devices list.
  11. If appropriate, tap any of device(s) listed then tap Delete to remove the device from the Not-allowed devices list; otherwise, tap Cancel.
    Note When deleting a device, file sharing must be restarted (disable Nearby devices switch, Off icon Nearby devices then enable Nearby devices switch, On icon ) to add the device to the Allowed list.
  12. Tap Download to.
  13. Tap one of the following:
    • Device
    • SD card
  14. Tap Upload from other devices.
  15. Tap one of the following:
    • Always accept
    • Always ask
    • Always reject
