Verizon Messages - Android™ / Windows® Tablet - Send a Message

Note Notes:

  • Ensure your apps are up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version. Select one of the following operating systems for more info:
  • Verizon Messages is capable of sending and receiving large files, which uses cellular data unless device is set to download over Wi-Fi only.

  1. Tap the Message+ icon Message+ icon.
    Note If not available, navigate: Apps > Message+.
  2. Tap the New message icon (located at the bottom).
    Tap the Pencil icon
  3. From the To field, enter a 10-digit mobile number.
    Note As the number is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
    Note Alternately, tap the contacts icon (located on the right-side of the To field), select a contact, select the appropriate mobile number then tap OK.
    Note Repeat this step as necessary to add additional recipients.

  4. If prompted, select an option:
    Group
    Allows recipients to reply to all who receive the message.
    Just Me
    Doesn't allow recipients to reply to all who receive the message.
    Select an option
  5. From the Type a Message box, enter a message.
    Note To add an attachment:
    1. Tap the Add icon + (located to the left of the message box).
      Tap the attachment
    2. Select one of the following attachment types:
      Note Not all attachment options are available on Windows devices.
      Video - Kanvas
      Gallery
      Places
      eGifts
      Glympse
      Collage
      Postcards
      Contact Card
      Audio
      Record (Audio)
      Emoticon
  6. Tap the Send icon Send icon.
