Volume Controls - The all new HTC One® (M8)

Adjusting volume controls can help if you're not getting notifications/ringing/vibrating when receiving calls/texts/emails.

Note Pressing the Volume buttons (on the right edge) up or down adjusts:

  • earpiece volume while on a call.
  • media volume while listening to music or playing videos or games.
  • ringtone volume when not on a call and no media apps are actively used.

To adjust volume settings when not on a call or actively using an app, do the following:

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
  2. Tap Settings.
Note If unavailable, tap the Dropdown menu Applications dropdown menu icon (located in the upper left) then tap Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
  3. From the DEVICE section, tap Sound & notification.
  4. From the GENERAL section, tap Volumes.
  5. Adjust any of the following then tap DONE.
    • Ringtone
    • Music & videos
    • Alarms
    • Notifications
Note A check mark must be present in the "Use ringtone volume for notifications" field in order to adjust notification volume.
