Email Account Password and Server Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

To configure personal email server settings (e.g., password, Exchange server, etc.), follow these steps.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Applications icon > Email.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. From an Inbox, tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Manage accounts.
  5. Tap the appropriate email account account.
  6. Tap More settings (located at the bottom; may require scrolling).
  7. Tap Incoming settings (if available).
  8. Configure the following then tap Done:
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • Password
    • POP3/IMAP server
      Note If you're not sure what your server info is, here are some common personal email server addresses. Contact your email provider if additional assistance is needed or your server info isn't listed.
    • Security type
    • Port
    • Delete email from server
    • IMAP path prefix
  9. Tap Outgoing settings (if available).
  10. Configure the following then tap Done.
    Note The available settings may vary depending upon the email account type.
    • SMTP server
    • Security type
    • Port
    • Require sign-in
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    • Username
    • Password
