Manage Screen Lock Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

Note Depending upon screen lock type (e.g., Swipe, Pattern, etc.) the available options may vary.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Applications icon (located in the lower right).
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Lock screen.
  4. Tap Pattern type, select one of the following then tap Save:
    Note Available when Pattern is enabled.
    • Classic
    • Halftone
    • Morphing 
    • Multicolor
  5. Tap Unlock effect then select one of the following:
    Note Available when Swipe is enabled.
    • None
    • Popping colors
    • Stone skipping
    • Watercolor
    • Ripple
  6. Tap Make pattern visible to enable or disable.
    Note Available when Pattern is enabled.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  7. Tap Vibration feedback to enable or disable.
    Note Available when Pattern is enabled.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  8. Tap Lock automatically then select one of the following:
    • Immediately
    • 5 seconds
    • 15 seconds
    • 30 seconds
    • 1 minute
    • 2 minutes
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 30 minutes
  9. Tap Lock instantly with power key to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  10. Tap Auto factory reset to enable or disable.
    Note Ten incorrect entries of the device password resets the device to factory default condition. All data including Google Account, app data and settings, downloaded apps, etc. is removed. If necessary, perform Initial Activation/Setup.
    Note Available when Password is enabled.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
