Power Saver Settings - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

Note Notes:

  • To configure settings, power saving mode must be turned on.
  • Configuring the power saving mode helps conserve battery power.
  • Ultra power saving mode applies a simplified grayscale theme to the home screen and limits the number of usable apps.
  • The Recent apps Recent apps and Back buttons Back icon do not light up while in Ultra power saving mode.


  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Power saving.
    Note These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Tap one of the following:


Power Saving Mode

  1. Tap Restrict background data to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  2. Tap Restrict performance.
  3. Tap the Restrict performance switch (located in the upper-right) to turn on Switch On icon or off Switch Off icon.
  4. When enabled, tap any of the following:
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
    CPU performance
    Limits the maximum CPU performance.
    Screen output
    Reduces the screen frame rate and lowers the brightness when the screen is turned on.
    Turn off touch key light
    Turns off this feature as it uses additional battery power.




Ultra Power Saving Mode

  1. To add items to the home screen, tap + then tap an app.
    Note App availability is limited while in Ultra power saving mode.
    Note A maximum of six apps may be added to the home screen.
  2. To remove items from the home screen:
    1. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
    2. Tap Remove.
    3. Tap the appropriate app then tap OK.
  3. To adjust settings, tap the Menu icon Menu icon then tap Settings.
    Note While in Ultra power saving mode, adjustable settings are limited to:
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Airplane mode
    • Mobile networks
    • Location
    • Sound
    • Display
