S Health - Samsung Galaxy S® 5

Note Notes:

  • S Health records activity level, food consumption, and other health-related issues to help manage wellness and achieve fitness goals.
  • S Health utilizes a pedometer and heart rate monitor to track activity and heart rate.
  • This app is not intended for clinical or medical use.


  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located in the lower right).
  2. Tap S Health.
  3. Tap Next Next icon (located in the lower right).
  4. Review the Terms and conditions and Privacy Policy then tap (check) I agree to continue.
  5. Tap Next Next icon.
  6. From the Auto backup screen, tap the switch (located in the upper right) to turn auto backup on (in the green position) or off then tap Next.
    Note If turned on:
    • Tap Via Wi-Fi only to enable or disable.
      Note Enabled when a check mark is present
    • Select a backup frequency (e.g., 3 hours, 6 hours, etc.).
  7. If preferred, sign in with a Samsung account or tap Skip Next icon.
  8. From the Create profile screen, enter profile information (name, birthday, gender) then tap Next.
  9. Enter body measurements (height, weight) then tap Next.
  10. Tap the appropriate activity level (e.g., light, moderate, heavy) then tap Next.
  11. Review profile information then tap Start Next icon. Some S Health features include:


Heart Rate Monitor



  1. From the main S Health screen, tap Pedometer.
  2. Tap the Menu icon Menu icon (located in the upper right).
  3. Tap Daily step goal.
  4. Adjust the slider tool to set a step goal then tap Done (located in the upper right).





  1. From the main S Health screen, tap Exercise.
  2. Tap one of the following exercises:
    • Running
    • Walking
    • Cycling
    • Hiking
  3. Tap Set workout goal then tap one of the following:
    • Basic workout
    • Distance goal
    • Time goal
    • Calorie goal
    • Training goal
  4. If appropriate, set the preferred goal then tap Done (located in the upper right).
  5. Tap Start (located at the bottom).
  6. If presented with the Turn on Location prompt, tap Turn On for more accurate recorded information.




Heart Rate Monitor

  1. From the main S Health screen, tap Heart Rate.
  2. Place finger on sensor on the back of device.

  3. Keep still and quiet (reading may take up to 10 seconds).
