This page explains our LTE Internet (Installed) service, the installation process and how to use it.

General Information

  1. What is LTE Internet (Installed)?

    LTE Internet (Installed) is a home internet service that delivers the speeds of our 4G LTE network to a broadband router. The LTE Internet router also provides a Wi-Fi signal giving Internet access throughout the home. It's a great solution for customers with 4G LTE coverage at home who don't have other high-speed Internet options. With LTE Internet (Installed) you'll receive:

    • High-speed internet with average download speeds of 5-12 Mbps*
    • Wi-Fi connections for up to 20 devices (e.g., tablets, smartphones, gaming consoles, etc.)
    • Wired Ethernet connections for up to 4 devices

    Note: Your home address must qualify for LTE Internet (Installed) to be able to sign up for it.

    *Video speeds may be slower, depending on video resolution provided.

  2. How much does LTE Internet (Installed) cost?

    The equipment, professional installation and activation are all free. LTE Internet (Installed) requires a 2-year contract on one of the following plan options:

    • The new Verizon Plan - A monthly line access fee of $10 and a data plan. Data plans for LTE Internet (Installed) start at $70 for 8 GB. If you already have The new Verizon Plan, you can add LTE Internet (Installed) to your plan.

      Note: Each additional 1 GB over the monthly allowance for The new Verizon Plan costs $15.

    • An individual LTE Internet (Installed) plan - Data plans start at $60 for 10 GB.

      Note: Each additional 1 GB over the monthly allowance for the individual LTE Internet plan costs $10.
  3. Is LTE Internet (Installed) available for small or large businesses?

    No, LTE Internet (Installed) is only available for residential customers.

  4. How do I know if I qualify for LTE Internet (Installed)?

    When you ask to sign up for the service, our Customer Service or Sales Representative will see if your home address meets the following standards:

    • Validated by our system
    • Minimum or better 4G LTE coverage available
    • E911 coverage available
    • Installers available

    Note: Even if you receive 4G LTE coverage at your home, you still may not qualify for LTE Internet (Installed) service. We want to make sure we provide the best internet service, so we won't install it where there's a weak signal. Learn more about our other options for internet service.

  5. Will I have full access to the internet with the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    Yes, it's a fully functional internet access solution which can be used like other services, such as DSL, cable, satellite, etc.

  6. What speeds can be expected with the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    You can expect an average of 5-12 Mbps* for downloading and 2-5 MBps for uploading.

    *Video speeds may be slower, depending on video resolution provided.
  7. Where is the LTE Internet (Installed) service available?

    Refer to our coverage locator map to see where our 4G LTE network is available. If you use our 4G LTE network at your home, then you may have coverage there for LTE Internet (Installed). When you ask to sign up for LTE Internet (Installed), our Sales Representative will see if your address qualifies for service.

    Note: LTE Internet (Installed) only connects to the 4G LTE network.

  8. What's the range of the LTE Internet (Installed) router?

    Actual range and speeds will vary based on the radio frequency conditions and obstructions within your home. Most devices should be able to connect within 150 feet of the router and may be able to connect at a greater distance.

  9. How many devices can be connected to the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    You can connect up to 20 Wi-Fi capable devices using the router and up to 4 wired Ethernet devices.

  10. Where can I purchase or subscribe to LTE Internet (Installed)?

    You can purchase it at all Verizon Wireless stores and select Premium Retail stores. You can also purchase the service by calling (866) 822-9406.

  11. What is the protection plan for LTE Internet (Installed)?

    For only $6.99/month, the protection plan covers:

    • Repair or replacement of LTE Internet (Installed) equipment due to mechanical or electrical failure of the product after the manufacturer's warranty expires
    • Onsite service and labor costs

  12. I don't qualify for LTE Internet (Installed). What other options do I have for Verizon Wireless internet service?

    If your home location doesn't qualify for LTE Internet (Installed) but you're able to receive a 3G or 4G LTE signal at home, you can still purchase a mobile hotspot or USB modem to connect to our network.

Installation

  1. What's the installation process for LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    Once you sign up for LTE Internet (Installed) service, you can expect:

    • A call from our installation team the day before installation to confirm the scheduled appointment
    • A call on the day of installation to provide the estimated time of arrival at your home
    • A technician who will professionally install LTE Internet (Installed) service
  2. What equipment will be included in the installation of the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    Installation includes the following equipment:

    • LTE Internet (Installed) Antenna
    • LTE Internet (Installed) Router
    • Power Inserter
    • Mounting Kit
  3. Who will install the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    We've partnered with a network of professional installers who will perform onsite installations.

  4. Will I be able to choose where the LTE Internet (Installed) router is placed in my home?

    You're typically able to direct the technician as to where to set up the router. However, some home designs may limit these options.

  5. Where will the LTE Internet (Installed) antenna be installed?

    The antenna will be mounted on the side exterior of your home where there’s 4G LTE coverage and it’s agreeable to you. The technician will offer best placement for the device and allow you to make the final decision before mounting the device on your home’s exterior. Once the antenna is mounted, we won't remove it even if you cancel your LTE Internet (Installed) service.

  6. How do I reschedule installation or report issues about LTE Internet (Installed), who can I call?

Using LTE Internet (Installed)

  1. How can I keep from going over my data allowance for LTE Internet (Installed)?

    Here are a few ways to help you track your data allowance:

    • We'll send you free notifications by email and/or text message when you reach 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% of your monthly allowance.

      Note: A valid email address is required for notifications sent by email.

    • You can view and change your notification settings on the Email and Text Alerts Preferences page and the Usage Alerts page in My Verizon.
    • You can track your data usage in My Verizon or the My Verizon app on the home page of each.

    To set a hard stop on your data usage when you reach a certain amount, you can subscribe to Verizon Smart Family™ for a low monthly cost. You can add up to 10 devices to FamilyBase, which also includes many other useful features. Refer to our Verizon Smart Family FAQs to learn more about it.

    Note: If you're consistently reaching your data limit, we recommend changing your plan, or click the Chat with us button at the bottom right corner of this page to contact one of our representatives.

    You can also consider using Safety Mode on the new Verizon Plan to help avoid overage charges.

  2. How can I add more data for LTE Internet (Installed) so I don't go over my allowance?

    If you'd like to make a change to your plan for 1 month or longer, you can do so in My Verizon. Refer to our Change Your Plan FAQs for details.

    If you're on the new Verizon Plan, you can also purchase a Data Boost, which is 1 GB of extra data for $15. Go to our Safety Mode FAQs for more information.

    Note: To change your plan for just 1 month, you'll have to change your plan again at the end of your bill cycle. If you choose to change your plan in the middle of a bill cycle, your bill will include prorated charges for both plans, the old and new.   3. What is the default password for the LTE Internet (Installed) router's Wi-Fi connection?

    The default password is on the label on the back of the router. The ID for your router is labeled "SSID" so be sure to choose the correct SSID to connect to. The password is labeled the "WEP/WPA2 key" and it's located below the SSID. For more help finding this, refer to the User Guide (PDF)*.

  4. How do I access the router's administrator page for the LTE Internet (Installed) service?

    To access the router's administrator page:

    1. Open a web browser (e.g., Firefox®) on a device that's connected to the LTE Internet (Installed) router.
    2. Enter http://192.168.1.254 in the Address field, then press Enter on your keyboard.
    3. Enter your user name and password.

      Note: If you haven't changed the password, enter admin in the User Name field, and enter the password labeled "Login Password" printed on the back label of your router in the Password field. For more help finding this, refer to the User Guide (PDF)*.

    4. Click OK. You'll see the LTE Internet (Installed) Router Graphic User Interface (GUI).

    You've successfully found the router's administrator page.

  5. How can I change passwords to access the LTE Internet (Installed) Router Graphic User Interface (GUI)?

    To change your passwords:

    1. Open a web browser (e.g., Firefox®) on a device that's connected to the LTE Internet (Installed) router.
    2. Enter http://192.168.1.254 in the Address field, then press Enter on your keyboard.
    3. Enter your user name and password.

      Note: If you haven't changed the password, enter admin in the User Name field, then enter the password labeled "Login Password" printed on the back label of your router in the Password field. For more help finding this, refer to the User Guide (PDF)*.

    4. Click the Advanced HBR page.
    5. Click users.
    6. Click administrator.
    7. Enter the old password and a new password.
    8. Click save.

    You've successfully changed your passwords.
