Service Member Wireless Benefits Discounts

  1. What discounts does Verizon Wireless offer to service members and veterans?

Yes, as part of our commitment to support the men and women who serve our country, we offer the following discounts:

    • Go Unlimited, Beyond Unlimited and Above Unlimited:
      • 1 phone – $15 discount
      • 2 phones – $35 discount
      • 3+ phones – $40 discount

Note: If you signed up for Go Unlimited or Beyond Unlimited before 6/18/18, you have a $15 account-level discount, no matter how many lines you have. You can mix and match unlimited plans on your account to get the new discount listed above.

    • Most other advertised Verizon standard plans: 15% discount

    • Select accessories (when purchased on the My Verizon app or online in My Verizon): Up to 25% discount

    • Select features (excludes data only plans or where otherwise indicated): Up to 12% discount

    • Preferred call routing when an account with a validated service member discount calls Customer Service
  2. Which branches of service are eligible to receive these discounts?

All branches of the United States military are eligible, including:

    • Air Force
    • Army
    • Marines
    • Navy
    • Coast Guard
    • Commissioned officers of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
    • Commissioned officers of the United States Public Health Service
    • All military reserves and National Guard
    • Veterans of all branches
  3. Does my Verizon Wireless plan or feature qualify for a discount?

One of the many ways we like to show our appreciation is by always making sure you get the best value, such as a promotional plan that is already discounted.

General discount qualifications as applied specifically to service members and veterans who have completed the discount registration process, unless otherwise noted, apply to plan monthly access fees for most non-promotional plans, and data features of $24.99 or higher.

On plans with separate account and line fees, discounts apply only to the Account Access fees. Prepaid, already discounted and promotional plans are not eligible for discounts through this program.

A great way to manage your account and review your discount details is through My Verizon.

  4. How can I apply or register for my Verizon Wireless military discount?

    1. Go to the Discounts by Verizon Wireless page.
    2. Enter your mobile number, and tap or click Log in and validate.
    3. Select Military to verify your discount status.
    4. If asked for your company name and address, enter your branch of service and your last known military address (including APO/FPO, AP/AE, etc.).
    5. If you're a veteran, you can provide one of the following:
      • Veterans Identification Card (VIC)
      • Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC)
      • Veterans Advantage Card (VAC)
      • DD Form 214 (or any other government-issued, legacy discharge document)
      • Military Retiree Account Statement

Note: Don't submit your standard military ID card (known as the Uniformed Services Card).

  5. Once I've verified my service, will I ever be asked to re-verify my service?

No, once we've verified your service, Verizon will not ask you to re-verify.

  6. I’m a veteran or reservist and am able to get a Verizon Wireless discount from my current employer; can I get the military discount on top of my employer's discount?

No. You can only take advantage of only one of these discounts at a time.

Questions to consider in choosing the best option for you:

    • Active duty military and veterans get unique discounts on unlimited data plans. Standard employer (non-military) discount agreements do not provide discounts on unlimited data plan service fees.
    • If you’re not on an unlimited plan, you will want to consider which discount gives you the best value. Our Military offer provides a $15 account discount on most unlimited plans or 15% off other plan monthly service charges. You may want to use your employer discount if it’s a better deal. Because this would not be a service member discount, you may need to revalidate your employer provided discount.
    • If you choose to apply your employer discount, you can switch to the service member military discount any time at VerizonWireless.com/Discounts.
  7. Where can I find more information about Verizon Wireless discounts?

If you have more questions regarding Verizon Wireless discounts, the registration process, checking status question or discount issues, go to our Employee & Military Discounts & Employment Validation FAQs.

  8. Is the military discount available with Go Unlimited, Above Unlimited or Beyond Unlimited?

Yes. Visit our Employee & Military Discounts & Employment Validation FAQs for details. To enroll, verify your service or check your discount status, visit our Military Discounts page.

  9. Why am I no longer receiving my military discount?

The employee/military discount applies only to the account-level portion – or data-plan portion – of Verizon plans. It doesn't apply to the line access fee.

  10. Does the military discount apply to spouses?

Yes. If your spouse is on your Verizon Wireless account and the two of you share the same plan, he/she can be included in your military discount.

After this time period, the line of service will automatically be disconnected and the mobile number will no longer be reserved for you. If you had an active device payment prior to suspending and the line is terminated, the balance of the device installment will be billed to your account at the point of termination.

  6. Will I continue to be billed while my service is suspended for a military deployment?

No, all billing for service and features will be stopped while your account is suspended. This includes billing for your device payment agreement.

Note: You may receive a partial bill for the duration of the month that your line was active prior to the military suspension.

  7. How are my contract and upgrade eligibility dates affected if I suspend my service for military deployment?

Your contract and upgrade eligibility dates won't be extended for the time your line is suspended for military reasons.

If you had an active device payment agreement during the term of your suspension, your device payment agreement will resume once your services are reconnected.

Your ability to upgrade will be determined based on the number of payments that remain on the agreement.

  8. How is my device payment affected when I suspend my service?
