Prepaid Terms & Conditions

    Important Customer Information

The services described in this document are only for your personal use. They are subject to the Customer Agreement, your Calling Plan, the Verizon Wireless Privacy, available at Verizon Privacy Policy, and the following terms and conditions, as applicable. You agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies when using these services. In addition to your rights under the Customer Agreement, we may terminate or modify all services upon notice. Verizon Wireless is not responsible for third-party content you encounter using these services, including any possible defamation, obscenity, or profanity. Content, content pricing, service functionality, and menu order may change without notice.

    Prepaid Plans

If you want to change from prepaid service to postpay service, any remaining funds in your account will be credited to your postpay account. We can't give you any credit for transaction taxes you may have paid when depositing funds into your account, so you could end up paying the same taxes twice.

The Account Owner balance may not exceed $1,000. Account Owner may be prevented from making payments to the account if it reaches $1,000. One time maximum payment to an account is $200 per line, not to exceed $1,000. Account Owner may replenish up to 25 times in a rolling 30-day period.

On a Family Account, Account Members may separately maintain a line balance not to exceed $150. An Account Member may replenish up to 10 times in a rolling 30 day period.

Transaction fees may apply for some methods of payment. Cash applied to your account through Verizon wireless' Bill Payment Kiosks will have taxes deducted from the total amount entered at the applicable rate.

If you are on a Prepaid Monthly Plan, plans renew on the same day every month. Your account must have sufficient funds to remain active. If account does not renew and sufficient funds are not added within 60 days, your account will be canceled and any remaining funds will be forfeited.

Not all services and features are offered on Prepaid.

    5G

5G Ultra Wideband for mobile: 5G Ultra Wideband access requires a 5G Ultra Wideband capable device inside the 5G Ultra Wideband coverage area. Uploads may be over 5G and 4G LTE in lower signal strength conditions. Check your device to confirm whether it is fully compatible with Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network.

5G Ultra Wideband is only included with the following current prepaid plans: (i) Prepaid Unlimited Plus phone plan; (ii) 100 GB data only prepaid plan and (iii) 150 GB data only prepaid plan.

5G / 4G LTE: 5G requires a 5G compatible device. Devices manufactured before 2020 are not 5G compatible. You will receive 4G LTE when 5G isn't available. 5G access is included with all our currently offered prepaid plans However, on the prepaid $35 Talk and Text plan, even if you have a 5G-capable device and you’re in a 5G coverage area, your data will still be at the plan's 2G speeds.

Other plan details: International data reduced to 3G (up to 1 Mbps) speeds after the first 2 GB/day. If more than 50% of your talk, text or data usage in a 60-day period is in Canada or Mexico, use of those services in those countries may be removed or limited. Android and KaiOS based voice-capable devices use up to 9 MB of data per month per line in order to comply with 911 emergency requirements that enable emergency services to identify a user's elevation (e.g., the floor on which the user is located within a multi-story building) and if your line is not subject to an active unlimited data plan, you may be billed for such use.

    411 Search

When outside the Verizon wireless Prepaid Rate and Coverage Area, 411 Search rates, automatic connection and enhanced services may vary. For connected calls, the part of the call that occurs prior to connection may be billed at a different rate than the part of the call that occurs after connection. Additional toll and long distance charges may apply.

    Plan Compatibility

Your wireless device must be on a compatible plan at all times; log into your account to review your plan details. If you switch your SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card to a different device and your plan is incompatible with that new device (for example, switching a SIM card from a smartphone to a mobile hotspot device), we reserve the right to disconnect your line(s) of service unless you change to a compatible plan.

Coverage Maps available at Verizon Coverage Map.

    Unlimited Talk

Unlimited Talk may be used for directly dialed or received calls between individuals and not for connections that don't involve uninterrupted live dialogue between individuals.

    Data Services

All data and content sent or received using our network (including any network overhead and/or Internet Protocol overhead associated with content sent or received) as well as resolution of Internet Protocol addresses from domain names is deducted from your data allotment. Sending or receiving data using a virtual private network (VPN) involves additional VPN overhead for which you will be charged. Please note that certain applications or widgets periodically send and receive data in the background, without any action by the user, and such data use will be deducted from your data allotment. Applications may automatically re-initiate data sessions without your pressing or clicking the SEND, connect or Enter button. A data session is inactive when no data is being transferred. Data sessions may seem inactive while data is actively being transferred, or may seem active when the data is actually cached and data is not being transferred.

Data transfer amounts will vary based on application. If you download an audio or video file, the file may be downloaded in sections or in its entirety; data charged will apply to the portion downloaded, regardless of whether you listen to or watch all of it. You may access and monitor your own data usage by accessing My Verizon via App or Online or by contacting Customer Service.

Provided, however, providing connectivity to other devices is permitted through mobile hotspot/tethering which is limited to the amount of data allocated with your plan. We may investigate, and may ask you to provide an explanation, to determine whether such usage violates the terms and conditions of your Service, the Customer Agreement, or any other applicable terms & conditions have been violated.

We further reserve the right to take measures to protect our network and other users from harm, compromised capacity or degradation in performance. These measures may impact your service, and we reserve the right to deny, modify (including slowly speeds for excessive usage) or terminate service, with or without notice, to anyone we believe is using Data Plans or Features in a manner that adversely impacts our network.
