Verizon Tones: Ringtones and Ringback Tones FAQs

General Information
  1. Ringtones are downloaded to and played by your phone using the Verizon Tones app. You'll hear your chosen ringtone when someone calls you. Learn how to access Verizon Tones at our How to Use Guide: Verizon Tones page.

Note: Buy ringtones through the Verizon Tones app on your Android® or iOS device.

Ringback Tones aren't downloaded to your phone. Instead, the Ringback Tone is played by our network to your callers before you answer the call or the caller is diverted to voicemail. The person calling you hears the Ringback Tone.

Note: Get Ringback Tones at the Media Store.

  2. Ringback Tones replace the standard ringing sound for your family and friends to hear when they call you. Choose a song or clip for your callers to hear before you pick up a call or they're sent to voicemail.

  3. Over 90,000 ringtones and Ringback Tones are available in a wide variety of genres. If you can't find a title by genre, try searching by artist name or song title. Playlists are also available to purchase a collection of Ringback Tones at a discounted cost.

  4. Ringtones are $2.99 each. Ringback Tones are $1.99 each.

Note: Ringtones can't be shared with other phones on your account. For example, if two people on the same account want the same ringtone, each person will have to purchase it.

  5. Ringback Tones are $1.99 each. Plus there's a charge of $0.99/month for each phone on your account that's subscribed to the service.

    Notes:

    • Ringback Tones can't be shared with other phones on your account. For example, if two people on the same account want the same Ringback Tone, each person will have to purchase it.

  6. A Ringback Tones Playlist includes several different Ringback Tones that rotate each time you receive a call. Playlists improve the calling experience by adding variety. There's no additional charge for using Playlist. You can create up to 5 Playlists.

Learn more about Ringback Tones Playlists from our How to Use Guide: Verizon Tones.

  7. You can purchase an unlimited amount of ringtones through the Verizon Tones app on your device.

Note: Ringtones and Ringback Tones can't be shared with other phones on your account. For example, if two people on the same account want the same ringtone, each person will have to purchase it.

  8. You can purchase up to 100 Ringback Tones and Playlists. To purchase more than 100 Ringback Tones, first delete one or more Ringback Tones already on your profile.

Note: Ringtones and Ringback Tones can't be shared with other phones on your account. For example, if two people on the same account want the same ringtone, each person will have to purchase it.
