How to set up payment arrangements

If you can't pay your bill on time you can set up a payment arrangement to avoid collections activity. You can choose to schedule a future payment by check or set up a promise to pay. Plus you can do it online or with the My Verizon app. A $7 Agent Assistance Fee will be charged for any payment arrangement made with a Customer Service Representative over the phone or in a Verizon store.

Note: You must be an Account Owner or Account Manager to set up a payment arrangement.

Set up a Promise to Pay for an active Verizon account

    You can have a maximum of one promise to pay arrangement set up on your account at one time. Multiple lines under one account cannot have promise to pay set up simultaneously.

    My Verizon app

    If your payment information isn't saved:

    1. Open the My Verizon app.
    2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left and select Bill.
    3. Tap Pay Bill.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Promise to Pay.
      Note: Don't forget to change the amount you want to pay and the date you want to pay before continuing.
    5. Tap Promise.
    6. Review your payment arrangement and tap Promise again.

    You've successfully scheduled a promise to pay.

    If your payment information is saved:

    1. Open the My Verizon app.
    2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left and select Bill.
    3. Tap Pay Bill.
    4. Scroll the payment tiles to the left until you see Promise to Pay.
    5. Click Check Eligibility (you may need to scroll down to find the Check Eligibility button).
      Note: Don't forget to change the amount you want to pay and the date you want to pay before continuing.
    6. Tap Promise.
    7. Review your payment arrangement and tap Promise again.

    You've successfully scheduled a promise to pay.

    Online through My Verizon
    1. Go to the Make a payment arrangement page on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
    2. Select Schedule a promise to pay.
    3. Select Total amount due to pay the whole bill or select Other Amount and enter a payment amount.
    4. Enter a Payment date.
    5. Tap or click Continue.
    6. Review your payment arrangement and tap or click Make a promise to pay.

    You have successfully set up a promise to pay arrangement.

    Note: Eligibility requirements may make promise to pay options unavailable (e.g., your account is paid in full). If you aren't eligible, details explaining why will display.

Schedule a future-dated payment arrangement

    Using the My Verizon app

    If your payment information isn't saved:

    1. Open the My Verizon app.
    2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left and select Bill.
    3. Tap Pay Bill.
    4. Enter the payment amount.
    5. Choose the date you want the payment made.
    6. Select the payment method and enter the appropriate payment information.
    7. Tap Continue.
    8. Verify payment details are accurate and tap Pay Bill at the bottom of the screen.
    9. Review the details of your payment recapping the amount, date and the payment method.
    10. Tap Pay.

    You've successfully scheduled a payment.

    If your payment information is saved:

    1. Open the My Verizon app.
    2. Tap the Menu icon in the top left and select Bill.
    3. Tap Pay Bill.
    4. Enter the payment amount.
    5. Choose the date you want the payment made.
    6. Select the saved payment method you would like to use by scrolling left and right.
    7. Tap Pay Bill.
    8. Verify the payment amount and date and select OK if accurate.

    You've successfully scheduled a payment.

    Online
    1. Go to the Make a payment arrangement page on your smartphone, tablet or computer.
    2. Choose whether you want to pay with a saved checking account or enter a new checking account.
      • Saved checking account: Select the account from the dropdown.
      • New checking account: Enter the routing number and account number.
    3. Select a payment date.
    4. If this is a new checking account and you want to save it for future payments, select the Save for future payment box. You'll be able to choose this account from the dropdown next time you make a payment.
    5. Tap or click Continue.
    6. Review the payment arrangement information and tap or click Schedule Payment.
