  1. What is VZ Navigator®?

    VZ Navigator is a premium navigation app that provides complete, accurate, and easy-to-use navigation assistance. It saves time and helps you navigate with confidence and safety.

    With VZ Navigator, you'll enjoy:

    • Visual and spoken turn-by-turn directions
    • Premium coast-to-coast traffic information for the US, with spoken incidents and alerts
    • Ability to automatically or manually route around traffic
    • Local search information including businesses, movies, gas stations and other points of interest
    • Visual and spoken speed limit alerts*
    • Share your current location with others
    • Lane Guidance, which tells you exactly what lane to be in to make your next turn*
    • Natural Landmark Guidance gives you easily understandable directions (e.g., instead of "Take a left in 600 feet," it says "Take a left at the next stop light.")*
    • Customizable quick-search panel with your favorite categories and brands**
    • Always-available traffic conditions and trip duration for your top 3 favorite places on your Home screen**
    • Real-time Doppler radar, which displays up-to-the -minute weather patterns**
    • TripAdvisor ratings and reviews for many points of interest**

  2. What types of devices can use VZ Navigator?

    Many types of devices can use VZ Navigator, including:

    • Android® smartphones and tablets
    • iPhone® 4 and newer
    • Select Windows® Phone 8 devices
    • Select BlackBerry® devices
    • Basic phones
  3. Can I use VZ Navigator if I have a prepaid plan?

    Yes, you can use VZ Navigator with a prepaid plan on a smartphone or basic phone.

  4. How much does VZ Navigator cost?

    You can pay per day or sign up for a monthly subscription. Visit our VZ Navigator page for the latest pricing information.

    You can also view pricing and subscribe from the Products & Apps page in My Verizon.

    Note: VZ Navigator is charged to your Verizon Wireless bill.

  5. How can I get VZ Navigator?

    To subscribe to VZ Navigator:

    Note: You must be the Account Owner or Account Manager to subscribe to VZ Navigator.

    1. Go to the VZ Navigator page and click Get it now.
    2. Select the line(s) you want to subscribe.
    3. Click Confirm Purchase.

    You've successfully subscribed to VZ Navigator.

    VZ Navigator is preloaded on many devices. Check your device's apps menu to see if it's there. If not, refer to our VZ Navigator page for steps on how to download the app.

  6. What is the VZ Navigator free trial?

    When you subscribe to VZ Navigator, you'll receive it free for the first 30 days. After that you'll be charged the monthly fee on your Verizon Wireless bill. If you remove the feature from your account before the trial ends, you won't be charged.

    Note: Prepaid plans aren't currently eligible for the VZ Navigator free trial.

  7. What is Route Selector in VZ Navigator?

    VZ Navigator lets you choose between up to 3 of the most optimal routes, based on traffic, time of day and even historical data.

    Note: Route Selector is available on smartphones with VZ Navigator version 9 and newer.

  8. Why is VZ Navigator traffic better?

    VZ Navigator uses over 1 billion traffic probes to get the latest, most up-to-date traffic incidents across the US. It also integrates real-time traffic incident data to warn you in advance about traffic congestion, accidents and other traffic-related incidents.

  9. Will my Bluetooth® device work with VZ Navigator?

    Yes, VZ Navigator works with most Bluetooth-enabled devices.

  10. Can I share a location using VZ Navigator?

    Yes, you can share a location by email, text message, Facebook® and Twitter®.

    To share a location while in the VZ Navigator app:

    1. Select a location on the map.
    2. Tap the Location bubble.
    3. Tap the Menu icon (i.e., the three dots).
    4. Tap Share.
    5. Select how you want to share your location and follow the onscreen prompts.

    Note: These steps may vary by device or OS. Twitter sharing is only available for Windows Phone 8.

  11. Which cities are 3D enhanced in VZ Navigator?

    If you have VZ Navigator version 7 or newer on iPhone or Android, select cities have enhanced 3D maps showing detailed buildings, roads and intersections.

  12. How do I upgrade to the latest version of VZ Navigator?

    To check for updates:

    1. From VZ Navigator, tap the Menu icon (i.e., 3 dots).
    2. Tap More.
    3. Tap Check for updates.

    You've successfully checked for a VZ Navigator update.

    Note: These steps may vary by device or OS. You can also check for updates in the app store on your device.

  13. How do I exit VZ Navigator on my Android phone?

    To exit the app, tap the Back button on your Android phone.

    Note: If you have VZ Navigator version 9 or older, tap the Menu icon and then tap Exit.

  14. How do I sync my VZ Navigator "Favorites" to my new smartphone?

    When you open VZ Navigator on your new phone, all of your Favorites will automatically sync to it.

    Note: Syncing is available with VZ Navigator version 7 and newer.

  15. Can I access Roadside Assistance from VZ Navigator?

    Yes, you can use VZ Navigator to send your location and be connected to a Roadside Assistance specialist for help with:

    • Towing
    • Emergency fuel
    • A battery jump
    • A flat tire change
    • Lock-out service
    • Winching
  16. Why isn't VZ Navigator working on my device?

    There are several reasons VZ Navigator may not be working. Please check the following:

    • Make sure you're within the Verizon Wireless coverage area.

    • Ensure GPS or Location services are turned on. Look for this in your device's Settings.

    • Allow VZ Navigator permissions by selecting "Agree" when the app first starts up.
  17. How do I cancel my subscription to VZ Navigator?

    You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app or from the Products & Apps page in My Verizon.

    Note: Uninstalling VZ Navigator from your device doesn't cancel your subscription. You'll be charged for the service until you unsubscribe through the app or My Verizon.

    • In the VZ Navigator app:
    1. Tap the Menu icon.
    2. Tap Preferences.
    3. Tap Advanced.
    4. Tap My Account.
    5. Tap the Menu icon.
    6. Tap Unsubscribe.

    Note: These steps may vary by device or OS.

    • In My Verizon:
    1. Go to the Products & Apps page.
    2. Click the Manage Your Products tab at the top of the page.
    3. Select the line that you want to unsubscribe.
    4. Scroll to VZ Navigator, and then click Remove from Account.
    5. Review the changes and bill impacts on the confirmation pop-up and then click Remove Product to confirm the transaction.

    Note: You can only remove a product from one line at a time. To remove the same product from another line, you can choose that line and repeat steps c and d.
