Communicate across channels.

More than 17.6 billion text messages are sent each day. Although text messages are typically sent from one mobile phone to another, users can also send and receive text messages from a computer.

Here’s how: to send a text message from a computer to a Verizon Wireless customer, compose a new email and use the recipient’s mobile phone number as the email address, with the addition of “@vtext.com” at the end. For example, if the phone number is 555-123-4567, type “5551234567@vtext.com.” The length of the email should be kept to fewer than 140 characters. Once you are finished, hit send.

Text messages can be sent directly from the Vtext portal as well. Complementary to the text messaging feature already on your mobile phone, this online companion site also allows you to track the status of previously sent text messages, assign contacts nicknames for easy messaging and block incoming spam, among other capabilities.

Alternately, customers can take advantage of Integrated Messaging, which efficiently organizes messages, allowing them to simultaneously appear across all devices, including smartphones, tablets and computers.
