How To Use Guide: My Media Retrieval

Retrieve your ringtones, games, and applications for your cell phone. If you have a Certified Like-New Replacement device or have an eligible replacement device, you can retrieve previously downloaded applications from Get It Now/Media Center and ringtones from VZW Tones/Media Store at no charge. If you do not have a Certified Like-New Replacement or In Warranty Exchange device you will not be eligible to retrieve your ringtones and applications at no charge. However, you can re-purchase media that had been downloaded to your old device.

Using My Media Retrieval

  1. To start using the service, sign into My Verizon to access "My Media Retrieval".
  2. From the My Verizon Home page, select the "My Media" tab. If you have eligible media to retrieve, select the "Retrieve My Media" button to begin the media retrieval process. If you are not eligible to retrieve media, you will see the applications and content that you have purchased or subscribed to.

  3. If you are eligible for My Media Retrieval, you will see a "Get Started" button on the My Media Retrieval overview page. Select "Get Started" to continue. You will see the Get It Now/Media Store game/application and VZW Tone ringtone retrieval page.

  4. From the retrieval page, you can view what is available for retrieval. You will see any unlimited purchase and monthly subscription games, applications and any VZW Tones ringtone content that you have purchased since your last device change. All applications and ringtone content is preselected for retrieval. You can select and unselect any content that you want to retrieve. Select the "Retrieve" button to continue.





    You also have the option of opting out of retrieving any content and applications. Upon accepting, you will not be able to retrieve any of the existing games, applications and VZWTone Ringtones that were available on your last device. My Media Retrieval will not be available again until your next device replacement.
  5. The confirm retrieval page gives you an itemized breakdown of what you are about to retrieve. After reviewing the terms and conditions, select the check box and press "Accept" to start the retrieval process.
  6. Retrieval Successful! The retrieval successful page gives you the basic steps to receiving your retrieved games, applications and ringtone content. For any retrieved ringtones, you will receive a separate picture message with the ringtone attached. Games and Applications require you to open "Get It Now/Media Center" to complete the download process. You will receive a text message with the instructions for retrieving your content.

    Note: You will need to download applications within seven (7) days of when they appear in the folder to complete the retrieval.

Ringtone Download Instructions

  1. You will receive a picture message to your cell phone for each ringtone retrieved. You will need to view each message separately.

  2. After opening a message, select the “Options” menu.
  3. Select "Save as Ringtone" and follow the instructions on your device to apply settings to your ringtone.

    Note: if you do not see the "Save as Ringtone" option, choose the "Save Sound" option.

Games & Applications Download Instructions

Follow these simple steps to download and run your game or application on your new device now.
  1. After receiving your text message, navigate to the "Media Center" menu and select the "EXTRAS" menu.

  2. Choose the "Get New Applications" menu.

  3. Select the "My Apps" menu. Location of the My Apps folder will vary depending on device. Review the instructions in the text message to see where to access the MYAPPS folder.

  4. Choose the shortcut for the game or application you've selected to download.

  5. Once your download is complete, you can immediately start your game or application by selecting "Yes" or to start it later, select "No".
  6. To access and run the game or application, navigate to the "Media Center" menu and select the "Extras menu.
