  1. What is AppFlash?

    AppFlash is a content discovery service, which uses the power of your smartphone to make your life easier by giving you app, movie, music, and restaurant recommendations all in one place.

    Let’s say you've heard about a movie from some friends but don't know where it's playing. AppFlash shows you apps where you can stream it. If it's still in theaters, AppFlash recommends apps where you can buy tickets. Want to see the trailer, read the reviews or get a ride to the theater? AppFlash shows you these apps too.

    Don't have the app installed? AppFlash has an app streaming capability that lets you use some apps without the hassle of downloading or installing them on your device.

    There's no fee for AppFlash, but data usage is billed according to your plan's data allowance.

  2. How do I start using AppFlash?

    1. From your device Home screen, swipe right to access AppFlash.
    2. Review the AppFlash Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
    3. Tap GO to agree to the AppFlash Terms of Services and Privacy Policy and start the AppFlash tutorial.
    4. Set optional permissions for AppFlash.
      • Tap DENY or ALLOW for use of location information.
        • This data is used to enhance your experience in AppFlash and help make ads you see more relevant and depending on the AppFlash version, may also be used for other Verizon purposes consistent with the notice you receive
      • Tap DENY or ALLOW to make and manage phone calls from AppFlash.
        • AppFlash makes it easy to call with a single tap.
      • Tap DENY or ALLOW for use of contact information stored on your device.
        • Quickly search, find and call your contacts from the app.

    You've successfully set up AppFlash. Open the app by swiping right on your main Home screen.

  3. Which devices can use AppFlash?

  4. Can I disable or delete AppFlash?

    You can't delete AppFlash from your device, but it's easy to disable it.

    There's 2 ways to disable AppFlash:

    • In the app:
      • Tap the Settings icon in the lower left corner of the screen.

      • AppFlash Gear icon

      • Under "Configuration", tap Disable AppFlash.

      • Scroll down to "AppFlash" and tap or the slide the switch to OFF.
        • The switch will change from green to gray.

    • In your device Settings:
      • From your Home screen, tap Settings.

  5. I disabled AppFlash, but I want it back. How do I get AppFlash back on my device?

    You can get AppFlash back from your device Settings.

    1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.

    3. Scroll down to "AppFlash", then tap or slide the switch to ON.
      • The switch will change from gray to green.

  6. Why should I allow AppFlash to use my location services?

    AppFlash uses your device location to enhance your AppFlash experience and provide more customized app, movie, music, restaurant and other recommendations, and will help make ads you see more relevant. In newer versions of AppFlash, Verizon also requests your permission to use location collected from AppFlash and other apps to develop new location-based features and services.

  7. What types of location information are collected?

    When you allow it, we collect cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, GPS and sensor (gyroscope, accelerometer, light, magnetometer and pressure) information.

  8. How do I provide permission for Verizon to collect location data or change my mind about collection of this information?

    You provide permission when prompted in the app. If you decide that you don't want location information collected and used by the app and for other purposes, you can still use AppFlash but your recommendations and experiences will no longer be relevant to your location.

    You can change your choice at any time through your device settings (may vary slightly by device).

    4. Turn location permissions off or on
  9. Is location information collected even when I'm not using the app?

    In newer versions of the app, when you choose to enable location, it will be collected even when the app is not in use.

  10. Do you share my location data with third parties for their own purposes?

    No, not in a way that identifies individual users. Verizon may share certain de-identified location information with third parties for limited aggregate purposes, such as traffic reporting. We do not sell, rent or share precise location data that identifies you with others for their own purposes.
