Note Notes:

  • To share media files, an active Wi-Fi connection must be established. Refer to the following for assistance:
  • To play or copy media to / from other devices (e.g., computer, TV, etc.), they must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and may need to be configured for sharing. Refer to the user manual or contact the equipment manufacturer for assistance.
  • For assistance with setting up a Google® Chromecast™ device, refer to this page.
  • Some apps (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, etc.) support displaying the app contents on a remote display. Within the app, tap the Cast icon Cast icon then select the desired display from the list.

 

Here are a few ways to share your screen with a compatible TV (additional accessories may be required). Check with your TV manufacturer for additional support.

Share Your Screen

Note A Miracast-enabled HDTV or a Wireless Display adapter is required to view your smartphone's screen via an external display. A Wireless Display adapter can be purchased from any Verizon Wireless retail store or at the online store.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings > Share & connect.
  2. Tap Miracast.
  3. Tap the Miracast switch to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon.
  4. Tap a wireless display.
  5. View pictures/videos.

Share Pictures, Videos or Music

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps Apps icon > Settings > Share & connect
  2. Tap Media server.
  3. Tap the Menu icon Menu (located in the upper-right).
  4. Tap Use DLNA feature.
  5. If presented:
    1. Tap Library then tap the desired library.
    2. Tap Player then tap the preferred player.
  6. Navigate to the appropriate folder.
  7. Tap the Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
  8. Tap Play.
  9. Select (check) the preferred file(s) then tap Play.

  1. From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon.
  2. From the Apps tab, tap Settings Settings icon .
  3. Tap Share & connect.
  4. Tap the SmartShare Beam switch to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.

Media Server Settings (DLNA)

Note Configure these settings to share files with a DLNA-enabled device (e.g., TV, game console, etc.). To determine whether your device supports the DLNA standard, see this product database.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate: Apps icon Apps icon > Settings.
  2. Tap Share & connect.
  3. Tap Media server.
  4. Tap Content sharing to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
  5. Tap Content to share.
  6. Select any of the following then tap OK.
    • Photos
    • Videos
    • Music
  7. Tap Receive content to enable or disable.
    Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
